Animal group features foldout activity
Students will create an accordion foldout to show the main features of each of the 5 vertebrate groups.
There are 3 template options to choose from to allow for differentiation:
- Template 1: Students color the animals, cut out the 5 description labels, match each label to an animal group, glue, cut, and fold.
- Template 2: Students color the animals, cut out the 15 feature labels, match the labels to the animal groups on the template (where some labels are already in place), glue, cut, and fold.
- Template 3: Writing template included with and without lines. Students color the animals, use the blank boxes to describe the features of each group, cut, glue, and fold. Children could write bullet points or sentences.
Animal classification lift the flap book
This lift-the-flap resource will have children cut and paste animal examples from the 5 vertebrate groups - mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, and amphibians. The template has a top and a bottom part. There are 2 sets of animals to choose from, each provided in color and black and white.
